Our client, an international group active in financial services, is looking for an Accounting Manager in Brussels to lead its accounting activities and team.

Accounting Manager | Your duties and responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of the accounting activities of several corporate entities and manage a team of 5 people.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee accounting activities including GL, AP/AR, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure financial reporting in accordance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate the budget and forecasting processes and contribute to management reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, regulatory and internal control requirements.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of 5 finance professionals.
• Strengthen accounting processes, procedures and the internal control framework.
• Drive automation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
• Collaborate closely with other teams including Treasury, Tax, Consolidation, Investments and HR.
• Act as a point of contact for senior management and provide financial and technical accounting insights.
• Contribute to finance projects and improvements of ERP and reporting tools.

Accounting Manager | Ideal profile

• Experience: At least 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting within a structured/international environment, combined with experience managing or supervising a team. Big Four experience and knowledge of IFRS are strong assets.
• Languages: Fluent English, combined with a professional command of French and/or Dutch.
• Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
