Good family folk
Security Officer (Current Employee), Portland, ME – May 19, 2013
Pros: paid lunches, good benifits, trained in first aid
Cons: can't leave site for lunches
Not long I have been with the company and I feel already a part of a family. No inwork drama or back stabbing. It's Straight forward coming into work and doing the duties as required but with easy going management and other S/O's

Also I get a good impression if you want to move up you can. Long you have the drive to do so. Though the hardest part of – more... starting with them to lean the procedures and guidelines of Securitas and contract company they work with. After that you be fine. – less

United States Navy/ The Best
OSSN (Former Employee), Virgina – May 19, 2013
I loved the navy & a day in the navy can not be described. I learned that the navy is the greatest branch of service in the world. I loved my shipmates. Being away from my family was the hardest part. Becoming family with my shipmates was the most enjoyable part.

Pros: make your own lunch..no managers breathing down your neck..set schedule
Cons: no advancement.. low pay(based on site)
This company doesn't care about your personal life.when i started working here I worked every weekend graveyard shift..after 4 months I said something to my manager and he was kind enough to switch me to work during the week.I was under the impression after working 6 months at an entry level I would be able to get a new site with.. better pay. Did not – more... happen..managers don't do anything..company car is filth inside and out.. – less

Learning Environment
Regular Officer (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – May 15, 2013
Pros: free parking
Cons: short breaks, no relief, staff uncooperative
A typical work day was productive. I enjoyed my job. I learned alot from fellow officers that I can take with me for a lifetime. I was taught to be alert at all times. I enjoyed most of all the people I came in contact with while working several work sites.

Securitas, Black faulds
Security Guard (Current Employee), Dow Chemical Plant, Blackfaulds – May 15, 2013
Pros: accommodating my student schedule, lots of work during the christmas break
Cons: quick changes from day shifts to nights shifts in one week.
I have worked at Securitas for the past year. Over all the manager has been excellent at accommodating my student schedule as well as working to ensure that I received raises for my hard work and dedication to the company.
This was my first time to drive a 4X4 truck. I learned how to drive a truck in comparison to my small Geo Metro.
This was my first – more... time working in the Oil field. I learned the culture and what the plant does.
The people made the work great. I have a supportive learning environment.

The hardest part at first was the adjustment to 12 hour and night shifts the first few months since I had never worked 12 hour shifts on a regular basis as well as working night shifts. It had been over 5 years since I worked a night shift. – less

Empty promises
Security Officer (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PA – May 15, 2013
When hired I was told I would be working 40+ hours. After training (which was not paid) it was a hastle to get a full 8 hour shift a week. Pay was well below average for security officer. I was driving to sites all over Pittsburgh (and the company never paid for gas) for $8 an hour.

Pros: always has jobs and good management
Cons: kinda hard to advance
The company always has work! I liked that but sometimes they can frustrate you when trying to move up in the industry however I would say that the management tries very hard to make it all happen and the customer service we get to give is definitely at the top!
