We are looking for a R&D Specialist for an immediate start to reinforce our R&D team. This is a permanent full-time position based in our office in Kontich, Belgium.

As R&D Specialist, you act as a key player in contributing for the development of Flen Health products, setting up and conducting new research projects on next-gen formulations, performing development activities on new or existing products and proposing/executing pre-clinical tests.

Your responsibilities:
Promote, advance and execute cutting-edge research in wound care and other dermatological conditions focusing on microbiology field
Design, execute and monitor pre-clinical studies related to microbiology and analytical testing of existing products
Coordinate and follow up on outsourced studies conducted by external partners and third parties
Support cross-functional projects in collaboration with Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, and other departments, ensuring feasibility and timely execution
Ensure the execution, design, and maintenance of development documentation for both new and existing products
Monitor and evaluate market developments, scientific advances and emerging trends in microbiology

Your qualifications & experience:
Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Microbiology or a closely related discipline
At least 3 years experience or a PhD in microbiology, focused on the research and development of therapies targeting microorganisms
You are driven by a desire to improve patients’ health
Background in wound care microbiology is highly valued
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills as well as team mindset
Experience with quality systems is an asset
Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, resource constrained and entrepreneurial environment
You have a good command of MS Office: digital savviness related to lab management, project planning and research-related software are an asset
Fluency in English, written and spoken
