Worked in the Cafe, and was absolutely appreciated for my work there. I was always thanked, and it was pretty great.
The management took advantage of my work ethic after a while and would ask me to work crazy hours and work by myself on busy days... They would expect you to show up in a snow storm that's been declared state of emergency, and not complain.
Management liked to take advantage of everyone in that way. They would tell you that nobody else has called out and when you show up, there's not a soul in town. Pretty messed up honestly.
The pay is eh, for what you do in the cafe you can't really expect too much. You can bust your behind and make an effort to get a position but they're still going to just give it to someone else for being there longer. Doesn't matter if YOU'RE the one training them once they get their position, they're still going to screw you over.
Like I said, they thanked me a lot but you can only handle so much before you gotta bounce.
