Very negative work environment. Sadly in every department from top to bottom.
Leadership is short sighted and unsupportive which keeps Fuji from rising to the forefront of this industry. Plant is run to be reactive instead of proactive causing inefficiencies in every department.

Very procedure orientated, but not clearly defined and policy/procedure often contradictory.

Great benefits.

Crazy place to work with very low sub standard pay for the industry. Yearly physicals when should only be every 2 to 5 years, drug test employees upto 5 times a year by swab and urine. Easy job if you're smart enough and capable but rather work for the government or FBI, they at least pay me enough to be constantly harassed medically/drug screenings. I have white coat syndrome hate all the hospital dealings. They also dump all their waste down the drain, treat it with more chemicals. I will never drink city water in Mesa period. They hired in 2005 $15 an hr and now 14 years later it's one dollar more. They hire dreamers and non citizens also so maybe it's for you,not for this experienced ,hardworking, dedicated American from a family full of veterans.
Pros
Sometimes laid back
Cons
Low pay, no advancement, hire worse ppl with less knowledge to be above you

Very poor management, only care about them sells. No respect at any position from management. A bunch of alcoholics. Pay is very poor , raises are a joke. If you read this make sure you look somewhere else for a job. There are better jobs out there, just keep looking

FFEM will start you out at a decent, competitive wage but you will then be stuck at that assuming normal to stellar work. It's only inflation raises every year, again assuming you get the average review. You pretty much can't get anything better. They have tuition reimbursement, but your boss and his boss need to agree to it and they won't unless it is immediately useful to your position at that time, no improvement, no management classes to move up. And good luck moving up unless you have no life outside of work.
The issue is the management. The people are good, it's most of the higher ups that make it unpleasant.
Pros
usually decent Christmas dinner, occasional swag
Cons
Bad management

This is a team-work position and a family oriented company. The company is as prosperous as you make it., so when you have any questions or concerns, management is open to listening and they follow through to their word.

If you are looking for a career where you can get fired at anytime? Then FUJIFILM is for you. Their entire HR structure is terrible and if you have any problems or questions? Yea, don't ask them because they will not help you in anyways.

Feeling threaten or have an issue? Yea, good luck with getting help.

To the reviews saying that they do not hire from within. It is simply not possible to hire from within as they provide 0 training.

Pay and culture is comparable to socialism (everyone gets paid the same whether you are horrible, good, or amazing/productive at your position. 0 personal bonuses and 0 motivation to do a great job.

Takes 5 years to get a raise otherwise you just get the annual 2-3% raise which is not what high achieving individuals want.

They only fire people if you do not report a safety violation which is shocking because they have 20 or so employees that are absolutely worthless.

You will spend 25% of your time making reports for management that never get used or read, doing safety training that has nothing to do with your position, and trying to get signatures.

More red-tape than government jobs and getting information, approvals, or signatures from management is very difficult as they are in meetings all day or on vacation.

Very sterile basic office and lab environment. No place to eat within a 15 minute drive.

Company invests millions of $ into instrumentation and systems improvements but virtually 0$ into employee improvement.

Many people have been hired and left within their first week. Very high turnover.
Pros
Most of the coworkers are nice

The company expected the operators to wear many hats. One minute you were a Lab Technician running a titrator, spectrophotometer, accusizer, or Ph probe.
The next you are a data entry or record keeping clerk recording data on paper or into computer datalog.

Then you will be a hazardous materials handler transferring open acids, oxidizers, or powders with airborne particulates, into holding tanks.

A forklift operator transporting and staging raw materials and finished goods.

A packager/sampler filling drums and totes with finished product. Palletizing and readying them for shipment.

Accessed SAP, LIMS, Excel, etc.. to generate labels and spreadsheets necessary to prep containers and provide supporting documentation for every batch.

Operator to run an antiquated dispersion process that is prone to malfunction requiring close monitoring for 12 hours at a time.

Industrial laborer changing banks of up to 45 filters (several seasoned operators complained of pain to wrist and elbows due to repetitive motion of this process) at a time.

Chemical Compounder responsible for the proper measuring, dispensing, and blending of chemical batches of high value.

with new processes, rules, and edicts, being handed down weekly.

Compensation began just slightly higher than a hamburger flipper.

Nepotism was also a problem there. Candidates with real world experience often overlooked in favor of friends/relatives of current workers without any.

Every few years an opening for advancement would arise but for the most part the operators are stuck right where they are.

They have so many long time employee's that it doesn't allow for any change in culture. The H.R. department is under the impression that if it isn't broken don't fix it. Floor leads at both facilities are abrasive it seems like they enjoy belittling and harassing there team members. This division has management that instead of correcting negative behavior they join in. Management and H.R. look at the victims like they are the problem. I wouldn't want to work for this division again if I had to! Worst job of my professional career I would suggest continuing your job search. The only saving grace is the industry has steadly been growing and it has job security based on that alone.
Pros
Industry growth
Cons
No team environment or professionalism

Good place to get your feet wet and start, though you will likely get bored and hit a VERY low glass ceiling (male or female) quickly. There was plenty to do and very few who volunteer to take on additional roles, so if you want to wear "different hats", you'll likely be able to do so. On the local level, everyone is extremely helpful and will bend over backwards (sometimes literally) if needed. Upper management isn't "bad" really, just a tad disconnected. They seem to get a new title every other week, which is fine and all, but it makes it hard to track who is doing what and why.

My biggest gripe with Fuji is that they will NOT hire from within. Seeing someone promoted from within is a rare occurrence at Fuji, kinda like seeing a Unicorn. Or Batman. I was asked and encouraged to apply to a few positions in different groups. They positions were either filled from someone with a similar or less-qualified background or the position was closed entirely. When it came time for a promotion within the department, I was overlooked, I asked why I wasn't considered and I was told by HR that I "applied for too many positions to be considered". I applied to a total of 3 positions (one of which I got, but the job was closed after I literally packed my desk up and was ready to move).

Aside from that, the salary is mediocre, which is odd considering the "specialized" industry and high turnover rate in the lab. Most tech's, specialists, and chemists get just enough experience there to move on - the average turnover time is around 14-16 months. Fuji did have some OK benefits (though getting

On-site employees are great and helpful, flexible with vacation time, respectable PTO/Sick time separate from vacation time

Always willing to provide what you need to work better, compared to places that make you limp along with what you have and then wonder why productivity isn't up.
