I love the patients I am able to work with here. A typical day includes patient teaching, coordinating appointments and procedures, and requesting pathology services. My coworkers are very supportive and friendly. Management is inexperienced and the department has expanded too quickly, which can often be overwhelming for managers. The most unpleasant part of my job is a physical environment that is cramped and shared by too many people, and not conducive to focusing and staying on-task. The hardest part of this job is trying to conform to a zero tolerance for individuality, and this can be a stifling and sometimes impossible standard to meet. I love supporting my patients through their cancer diagnosis and sequelae throughout their trial involvement, and I have a strong calling to work with patients facing potentially life-limiting illness.
Good benefits, competitive salary, challenging duties and interesting work
Lack of privacy, stifling and unrealistic corporate culture

Had good experience there. Benefits are great. Sometimes busy and chaotic, sometimes relaxed and organized. Fast turnaround in management. Sometimes clicks in unit, sometimes strong teamwork. Mostly great staff.

The areas that I worked in were fast paced with great team work.I went through one of their training program....GREAT! It is unfortunate they don't offer more training programs for new hires. Management varies in each facility and each department. The work place culture is a reflection of society.

Great job as long as you're staff and not on a travel assignment. The CNA's would run from you as a travel nurse, you will get five patients as to staff will only get four patients. If you are staff, you will get treated fairly.
collaborative place to work with competitive pay and benefits

I would highly recommend Kaiser as one of the best places to work within the San Diego area. There is great opportunity for growth and movement within the company. The collaboration between management, labor, and the physicians is like no other which gives everyone the opportunity to be heard with their ideas to make Kaiser a great place to work.

Many of the employees of KP would never leave. Jokingly employment there is referred to as having "golden handcuffs". There are many great reasons to love working at KP but there are also many reasons to be leary of working there. You would think that being an ambulatory care facility that the job would be easy, laid back and not stressful compared to acute or SNF care but you'd be mistaken. You will run and have many stressful days. Hands down you will not beat KP's pay or benefits anywhere. The issues are similar to any other medical facility: management, under staffing, lack of work/life balance and politics. The problem is that once you become accustomed to the pay, benefits and hours it's very difficult to leave and take the massive pay/benefits cut. I can assure you that you will eventually question whether the stress and pain of the issues out weight the benefits regardless. I was with KP for >10 years but being on the outside I wonder how I managed to stay so long. I think it's a matter of what you think you can bear and if pay and benefits are enough to leave peace of mind behind some days.

I loved working for Kaiser Permante. , great co-workers. positive work environment, diverse culture, and excellent benefits. Union strong and great attempts to foster staff morale. I had to leave to help with family members who are all doing well presently.

LVN Staff Nurse (voormalige medewerker) – San Diego, CA – 24 februari 2018
As an LVN l was bored working at this company. You pretty much don't do any actual nursing it's all paperwork. Management seemed to have favorites. l felt very devalued working for this place. The benefits were ok, not great simply ok. Forget about requesting time off even if you have earned it. If you want a boring place to work at for 20 years then this is for you.
I am a retiree from Kaiser and would like very much to go back as per diem
Registered Nurse (RN) (voormalige medewerker) – San Rafael kaiser – 18 februari 2018
Absolutely the best place I’ve worked. The atmosphere; my peers; team work. We all worked together. I worked at Kaiser for over 10 years and loved it. They are very competent; treat their employees excellent. Pay scale is awesome. Education; they keep us up to date on changes that occur in the health field! I services on how to treat our patients with care, respect and treat each patient as an individual and not a diagnosis.
Registered Nurse (voormalige medewerker) – Portland, OR – 18 februari 2018
stressful, and lack of loyalty from management to staff. worked 9 hour shifts in clinic, nice to have parity, same pay as hospital, and great benefits, but hard to keep up with changes in management style, goals, etc.
The clinic I worked at has a very friendly atmosphere and we all worked together as a team
LVN Staff Nurse (voormalige medewerker) – Temecula, CA – 17 februari 2018
Provider sees pt every 15 minutes so you have to be onto of things and know how to multi task. management is very good and gets a long well with the staff. We work as a team, hardest part is dealing with angry parents. Having the sick kids looking and feeling better even after they get thier shots.

still working here reason to leave would be to earn the current retirement at the current sonority with present union. If I was to transfer and sign up with a different union I wold lose all sonority accrued with CNA.
