Youth Program Manager (voormalige medewerker) – Glenwood, IA – 21 maart 2018
I enjoyed working for the YMCA in our home town. It was a great atmosphere for the locals and for the employees there. This YMCA had lots of options for employment, so you are likely to find something you enjoy.
Day Camp Counselor (voormalige medewerker) – Warsaw, NY – 21 maart 2018
I got to spend all day with the kids. I got to play games and come up with crafts to do. Management could be questionable at times but it wasn't bad. We were all on a learning curve there. But it was the best job in the whole world. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Youth Development Counselor (huidige medewerker) – Kalamazoo, MI – 21 maart 2018
The kids that counselors supervise are not always acting on their best behavior but knowing that you are helping people in some way is rewarding. Managers there are very forgiving and easy to get along with but can be stern when it is needed. Many coworkers enjoy their job to a certain extent and are also easy going.
Lifeguard (voormalige medewerker) – Glen Ellyn, IL – 20 maart 2018
The management was very poor and there was not a lot of communication between co-workers and their leaders or each other. Was only there for a short time because lack of work opportunities and not a lot of pay.
Program Coordinator (voormalige medewerker) – PA – 20 maart 2018
The Corp level was very cutthroat and only cared about money and THEIR position not actually for the Y and the community. They don’t understand that the Y is in a low income town and did nothing to help the problem until the Y was in a hole. Completely clueless on how to run a nonprofit.
Program Coordinator (voormalige medewerker) – Calgary, AB – 20 maart 2018
Long hard days with low pay. It is hard work and should be recognized as such with better pay and benefits. However, the feeling of belonging and community between staff was very strong. It was an amazing support system there.
Sub- Child Care (huidige medewerker) – Kansas City, MO – 20 maart 2018
I love the kids. But the job didn't pay enough for all the things that had to be done. I work harder then the lead teachers. The management where I work was unprofessional. The manager didn't really care about her staff. She didn't handle the care of things that teachers needed. They had teachers that they favored. The ones that didn't kiss their behinds they treated them poorly.
