GENERAL MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT:
A highly visible supply chain role that will oversee the Demand Planning (forecasting and inventory) requirements process. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing Demand Plan and inventory plans that will enable the company to meet sales and service objectives.

MISSION OF THIS JOB:
The mission is to challenge the forecast together with sales, the forecast being the entry key to run the planning process of our plants taking into account the inventories and production reactivity. Moreover the demand planner is the key link between sales and operations.

MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES:
  • Collecting the forecast reports and updates from the sales organization (KAM/Countries)
  • Continuously improving forecasting techniques, method, and approach
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to help sales in their forecast process (historical sales, market trends, seasonality and inventory levels).
  • Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models and software tools) in creating forecasts & translate in the ERP system.
  • Manage and challenge constantly the parameters of the DPD/MRP with his team according to operational improvements/constraints and inventory targets.
  • Participate actively in the S&OP process, reviewing recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals (emphasis on brand transitions, new product introduction and promotions).
  • Make/share recommended adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends.
  • Analyze & evaluate the mid & long term demand versus the plant/line capacities & share bottlenecks with production and finance.
  • Manage inventory targets (including safety stock levels) that are approved by management.
  • KPI: prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets).
  • Monitor SKU levels and recommend SKU rationalization initiatives in the future.
  • Proactively facilitating, re-engineering, best practices & consensus between functional experts (Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT)
KEY RESPONSABILITIES & DECISION MAKING:
  • Compile adjusted forecast from sales.
  • Being the guardian of the PDP/MRP process.
  • Provide in due time reports and KPI's
  • Manage team & grant bonuses to employees of his department.
KEY FIGURES:
  • Manage portfolio of 1800 finished goods SKU's
  • Manage inventory of 12M€ (finished goods)
Requirements

  • Background in master scheduling, forecasting, procurement and planning.
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Experience using ERP statistical software packages
  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, manufacturing and supply chain issues
  • Good communication and Team building skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Extreme accuracy
  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions, etc.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally.
  • Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory.
  • Experience in managing end of life cycle and absolute inventory.
  • Fluent in English & French other languages are an asset
