Project Description
During your internship you will have to coordinate a project called "Retail Intelligence". The function is part of the sales department with a role as business development analyst. The main objective is to improve PepsiCo's way of doing business at one of the top 3 customers: this implies defining opportunities in increasing sales, reducing out of stocks and increasing on shelf availability of our products.
For this you will have to learn to work with a specific tool that enables PepsiCo to track daily sold volumes, stock levels and prices of all supermarkets from one of our customers. You should be feeling at ease to work with numbers and figures and have an analytical mindset. The organization also relies on your communication skills to get all different departments involved.
Job description

Your job would be:
1. Build and update recurrent reports (mostly in excel or powerpoint) to analyze the performance of various business activities (i.e. innovations, assortment, shelf, promotion, price, stock level).
2. Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to be aware of what is needed from a business perspective.
3. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to examine business results and explore reasons for good or poor performance and give recommendations on the way forward.
For this, the intern would not be alone: The category managers at PepsiCo and the consultants of the Retail Intelligence tool have experience in the roll-out of these projects and can assist him/her. The intern will be in contact with various departments internally: sales, field sales, supply chain, marketing, shopper marketing & business development. Therefore, it is important that he/she is at ease to interact between several functions within the organization, good communication and persuasion skills are required.
For the moment, the project is focused on one customer. Yet, it is likely to add another key customer to the project and thus expand the responsibility of this function.

  • Master in Economics or Business Management or Finance
  • Experience in an FMCG environment or at a retailer is an asset
  • Good communication, presentation & persuasion skills
  • Independent & pro-active
  • Being able to manage complexity
  • Organizational & priority management skills
  • Fluent with numbers & superior analytical skills; able to draw recommendations (from data into insights)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint
  • Data management experience is recommended
  • Affinity with Sales or Supply Chain Management is a plus
  • Languages: fluent in English, knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus
