Chiquita BeNeLux sells branded tropical products, but with the primary focus on bananas, selling to customers in retail, wholesale and Out of Home market within the BeNeLux. The Sales Manager BeNeLux is primarily responsible together with his/ her sales team to achieve the agreed company targets in volume, net sales and gross margin. In this he/she has a coaching and steering role towards the sales team and a sparring/ collaboration role together with the marketing department. The Sales Manager BeNeLux is part of the management team and reports to the Country Director BeNeLux.

Main responsibilities:
Responsible for the agreed total BeNeLux target (volume, sales and gross margin of bananas)

Is part of the management team, with the role and responsibility to actively participate and together with the other management team members, steer the organization in the right chosen direction

Develop and maintain excellent customer relations with the top BeNeLux accounts and drive baseline sales growth

Acquisition and follow-up on new key customers

To take part in network meetings/ seminars to build out his/her relational network

Introduce innovative concepts/ products in close collaboration with the Marketing department

Expand the role of category captain bananas and grow the total category in close collaboration with the key retailers

Improve the ripening utilization to agreed levels within Benelux ripening centers in close collaboration with the operations managers within Belgium and Netherlands

Manage, steer and coach a team of 3 Key Account Managers for excellence in executing the plan

Set clear guidelines, targets and work planning together with the Field Sales Manager for the 5 Field Sales employees

He/she will track and monitor progress against the plan and agreed KPI's and propose and implement corrective actions where needed.

Minimum of 10 (ideally 15 years) senior sales (and marketing) experience in a leading FMCG company.

A solid understanding and experience with the local trade environment within Belux is an absolute must and NL is a pré.

Experience in high performance Account Management is a must.

Experience in fruit business is a plus

University degree (preferred in Economics or Commercial Sciences)

Bachelor degree is a must. Masters degree-MBA prefered
