A global FMCG Business, operating as a market leader, have retained our services to appoint an exceptional Site Director to lead a flagship site in Northern Belgium. Operating in major global markets, this organisation has ties with a number of leading brands and an exceptional client base.

Duties of the Site Director:
Maintain and deliver strong leadership by example including performance management and people development
To develop and maintain the 3-5 year site strategy through liaison with other sites and the commercial teams to maximize the contribution from the site, and to prepare and agree the annual site budget, (1-3 year horizon) including capital expenditure program, fixed and variable costs and efficiencies, and working capital targets for all site departments
Oversee local manufacturing strategy to meet business and continuous improvement goals, and develop capital investment plans to back up the strategy and prepare capital spend proposals as required
To deliver or beat the budget through careful control of cost and effective management of the Capex programme. Ensure that conflicts and resource constraints are avoided
To derive and implement strategy for key raw materials sourcing, and to ensure competitive procurement of all goods and services
Continue to build on the World Class Manufacturing initiative with targeted year on year improvements in performance
Business changes to the development and implementation of a lean business manufacturing strategy - implement and champion strong Beliefs and Behaviors to ensure cultural change which will enable strategic goals to be met
To prioritise investment of resource on legal compliance, including SHE for the site over a 1-3 year time frame to ensure that the site complies with all applicable legislation and external standards thus maintaining the Company's license to operate
To comply with the CSR policy and ensure effective management of external relationships such as regulatory (e.g. HSE) and local community bodies
Develop a range of options to deal with anticipated risks. Communicate serious issues and recommended actions to Divisional Board and Executive

Individual requirement:
Degree level education or MBA in a field complementary to international FMCG business management
Minimum of 5 years experience within an FMCG environment or equivalent in a managerial post
Working knowledge of modern lean manufacturing and TPM techniques, Lean qualifications are desirable
Proven leadership capabilities and person management skills - demonstrable ability to enact behavioral changes is preferred
Strong analytical and budgetary discipline, experience in directing CapEx spend
Knowledge of the complete modern manufacturing global supply chain will be advantageous
Knowledge of applicable SHE and other relevant legislation, operating in a European market
Proficient English with strong French, Dutch or Flemish would be an advantage
